THE BAD WEATHER PREVISION FORCES TO STOP BUFF® EPIC TRAIL ULTRA MARATHON®

Published at 08-07-2017

The most relevant race of BUFF® EPIC TRAIL, Ultra Marathon 105k, has been stopped between Espot (67k) and Estany de Gento (81k) due to the bad weather prevision that has already been accompanying the first hours of its evolution. The race has been stopped in mountain refuges in order to guarantee the safety of the runners during the night. These mountain refuges are located in Espot (67km) and Refugio de Gento (81km).

Only four runners have been able to cross Gento’s spot and now they’re trying to arrive at the finish line in Barruera. Gerard Morales and Ernest Ausiró, from BUFF® Pro Team, as well as Miguel Ángel Sánchez and Luís Duarte will go on until the end of the race as they are not in the dangerous area (for the moment).  Their arrival is estimated at 19.45 p.m.

The decisión has been made by race’s organization after analysing the evolution of the posible storm predicted for this evening. A tough and complicated decision made taking into account the safety of the runners and the organization.
